Decrease Manganese Oxide Concentration in the Welder's Breathing Zone and Meet the Recommended New ACGIH Standards
Free Whitepaper Documenting Sampling Study at Steel Parts Manufacturer
What you will learn from this whitepaper
In February 2013, the American Conference of Governmental Industrial Hygienists (ACGIH) published recommendations to reduce the standard of maximum manganese oxide concentration in the welder's breathing zone from 0.2 mg/m3 to 0.02 mg/m3 due to the demonstrable risk to worker health. While many new weld guns and vacuum systems have been developed since the new recommendations, none have been able to meet these new levels...until now.
Our sampling study documents successful compliance with the much lower 0.02 mg/m3 recommendation.
What the study covers
Results that demonstrate:
- How porosity is avoided
- Importance of flow and vacuum while still providing preferred ergonomic features
- Testing of solid wire - flat and corner welding
- Testing of metal core wire - flat and corner welding
- Testing of flux core wire - flat and corner welding / horizontal on vertical wall and vertical upright
